Guest Spot on Jean-Pod Van Dammecast Ep. 119

It was my pleasure over the weekend to join PodBros John & Jeff to discuss Jean-Claude Van Damme's first film for Netflix, The Last Mercenary. This French action-comedy features JCVD in no less than nine distinct disguises in his role as former secret service agent Richard Bruméree (AKA The Mist!). Van Damme's character returns to France "when his estranged son is falsely accused of arms and drug trafficking by the government, following a blunder by an overzealous bureaucrat and a mafia operation." There's some sort of identity theft by a wannabe king pin doing his damndest to become Tony Montana, which leads to a whole lot of Scarface references. The film is both post-modern and a throw-back, action-packed, while also quite literally a French farce at times. Check out our discussion below or over on the PodBros YouTube page.
