An Evening With The Ullmans: Live @ Musica

A 16 song selection of highlights from 8-15-2013. For the Ohio stop of my Light The Dark tour that summer, I rallied the Ullman boys' high-school bands--The Bushmen (my dad and uncle's from the 60's) and Enormity (brother Brian's from 90's)--to round out an evening of music at Akron's Musica concert club. This was the third in a series of "Evening With The Ullmans" lineups, and we were fortunate to have the venue's engineer extraordinaire, Jim Bethel, record the proceedings for us. Even though there are bum notes and mistakes here and there, this collection captures some very memorable collaborations for me. For starters, I got to sing U2's "Where The Streets Have No Name" with The Bushmen and my brother Brian, as well as close the evening by joining Enormity for a rockin' rendition of the Pearl Jam classic, "Even Flow." This "warts-and-all" recording also includes unreleased performances of my duet with Zach ("Happiest Sad Song"), cellist Tara Hanish classing up "Light The Dark" and "Upward Down," and Brian backing me on my murder-ballad "Fear Followed" and the kitschy "Bad Country Song."

Download bundles also include a 33-page digital booklet featuring over 50 photos from all four "Evening With The Ullman" shows at Musica, as well as a bonus video of the All-Ullman Band performing Neil Diamond's "Sweet Caroline."
